In the end of June, we launched the Campaign on Paternity and Care in Brazil – “You are my father!”(“Você é meu pai!”, in Portuguese). This initiative was part of the Campaign MenCare, which Equimundo coordinates at a global level along with Sonke Gender Justice (South Africa). The goal of this campaign is to shed light on the importance of involving fathers in the care for their children and in paternity, showing the benefits this involvement brings to themselves, the children and the women. To get to know more about these benefits, we suggest you to read the article “What do men have to do with that?” written by the director of Equimundo- Brasil, Tatiana Moura. We bring you also an interview with the former-drummer of the band Titãs, Charles Gavin, who tell us how his paternity experience has transformed his way of perceiving the world. In this edition, we also talk about the event celebrating  Father’s Day in Washington-DC, where Equimundo has presented its partners and international organizations its video on paternity “the story of Márcio”, directed by Equimundo and IGWG,  as well as the results of the research on men who involve themselves in the care for their children.
In addition, we  present the publication “Journeys of Transformation”, a manual which results from a research project on actions to involve men as partners in the women economic empowerment in Rwanda, Africa.Enjoy your reading!
