With Instituto Promundo’s inception in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1997, Promundo's staff began a legacy of work within the country. The organization's first headquarters is internationally recognized for developing research, methodologies, community interventions, and advocacy in Brazil and Latin America – and in Portuguese-speaking countries around the world – that are evaluated and disseminated globally. The Brazil team is a separately registered NGO (Instituto Promundo), and a member of the Promundo Global Consortium.


Tatiana Moura

Executive Director

Tatiana Moura has been the Executive Director of Promundo since 2011, and a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies, University of Coimbra, Portugal, since 2000. In the last decade, she has coordinated projects on gender and armed violence, particularly in Latin America. She published the books "Between Athens and Sparta: Women, Peace and Armed Conflict" ("Entre Atenas e Esparta: Mulheres, Paz e Conflitos Armados") in 2005, "Invisible Faces of Armed Violence: A Case Study on Rio de Janeiro" ("Rostos Invisíveis da Violência Armada: Um Estudo de Caso sobre o Rio de Janeiro”) in 2007, "Act of Resistance: Reports from relatives of victims of armed violence" ("Auto de Resistência: Relatos de familiares de vítimas da violência armada") in 2009, and "Newest Wars: Spaces, Identities and Spirals of Armed Violence" ("Novíssimas Guerras: Espaços, Identidades e Espirais da Violência Armada") in 2010. She has a degree in International Relations, a Master's degree in Sociology from the School of Economics at the University of Coimbra, Portugal, and a Doctorate in Peace, Conflict and Democracy from the Universitat Jaume I, Spain.



Linda Cerdeira

Senior Program Coordinator

Linda Cerdeira is a Senior Program Coordinator at Promundo. She carries out projects related to paternity and care, as well as the prevention of violence against children and youth. Previously, Linda worked in project management, fundraising, research, communication, and training in several other institutions in Portugal and Brazil. She was responsible for the management of a social and environmental regeneration project in Complexo do Alemão through the government of Rio de Janeiro. Linda has a degree in Sociocultural Animation from the Technology, Arts, and Professional School in Nisa, Portugal, and a degree in International Relations from the School of Economy at the University of Coimbra. She has a Master’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management from the Higher Institute of Languages and Administration of Lisbon (ISLA).


Milena do Carmo

Program Officer

Milena do Carmo is a Program Officer at Promundo. She works on the MenCare+ program in Brazil (+Pai), developing groups with pregnant women, couples, and parents in communities and health facilities, and developing and implementing workshops with health professionals using the Program P methodology. She has a degree in Social Studies and a Master’s degree in Sociology from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where she developed a study on discussion groups with male perpetrators of domestic violence, and subsequently worked as a facilitator of these groups in Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro.


Norma Sá

Program Officer

Norma Sá has been a Program Assistant at Promundo since 2014, and is currently involved in projects addressing the commercial and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. She has experience as a counselor at the National Council for the Rights of the Child and the Adolescent at the municipal and state level in Rio de Janeiro. She previously coordinated projects at the Federation of Private Foundations of the State of Rio de Janeiro, managing education projects and vocational training for women. Norma has a degree in Psychology from the University Gama Filho, a specialization in social responsibility and the management of social projects from the Veiga de Almeida University, and is certified for the development of women leaders by the Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA).


Marcos Antônio Salustiano


Marcos Antonio Salustiano is a consultant for Promundo. He supports Promundo's sports initiatives and community mobilization efforts, and provides logistical and financial support. Marcos has experience as an office assistant in the House of Rui Barbosa, as an administrative assistant at Discover the World, and as manager of the restaurant Gula Gula. He is currently studying Physical Education at IBMR Faculty.



Danielle Araújo

Senior Researcher

Danielle Araújo has been a researcher at Promundo since 2011, contributing to joint community actions and mobilization, the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of interventions, and the development of research instruments. She represents Promundo in networks in which the institution takes part, such as the National Network for Early Childhood (“Rede Nacional da Primeira Infância”) and the Learning Community (“Comunidade de Aprendizagem”). Danielle has a Master’s degree and is a Doctoral student in Political Science at the State University of Campinas.



Mohara Valle


Mohara Valle is a communications consultant for Promundo, providing support for campaigns, internal communications, and event planning. She has been working in communications since 2006, and she was previously an intern at the Communications and Marketing departments at both Petrobras and Icatu Seguros. Mohara has also been working in mobilization for social movements since 2005, participating in student organizations, and later serving as coordinator of the National Executive Council of Students in Social Communication. Mohara has a degree in Advertising and Marketing from the State Technical School Adolpho Bloch and a degree in Social Communication and Advertising from the Federal Fluminense University.


Finance and Administration

Rosemeri Orth

Administrative and Financial Coordinator

Rosemeri Orth has been Promundo’s Administrative and Financial Coordinator since 2009, where she is in charge of processes, policies, and personnel management procedures. She is also responsible for managing finance, taxes and accounting, including providing support for fundraising. Rosemeri has been working in finance and administration since 2011, with a focus on nonprofit organizations. Rosemeri has a degree in Business Administration, from UNISINOS-RS with a postgraduate degree in Financial Management, Accounting, and Auditing from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation.


Sandra Vale

Management and Institutional Development Consultant

Sandra Vale is a Management and Institutional Development Consultant at Promundo. She has over 15 years of experience in the management, coordination and production of projects, programs, events and campaigns for NGOs. In the last five years, she served as executive producer of the program "The Color of Culture" at Canal Futura. She made the documentary "Triangle" with Tás a Ver, and was the curator and art director of the exhibition "The Place of the Other," by the photographer Walter Firmo. Sanda previously served as the coordinator for the Rights Desk project of legal services and the mediation of conflicts in low-income communities in Rio de Janeiro, and coordinated the Civil Volunteer Service, a civic education project for young people, both of which were developed by Viva Rio. Sandra was also the financial director of ISER and provided financial management for public security at the NGO Viva Rio. Sandra is a lawyer and has a Master’s degree in History, Politics and Cultural Assets from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation.


Ceiça Alcoforado

Administrative and Financial Analyst

Ceiça Alcoforado has been Promundo’s Administrative and Financial Analyst since 2013. She is responsible for operations and project management for the Finance and Administration team, including the control of payments, receipts, and planning. She has professional experience in social and political science, including as the lead for the implementation of an adult literacy project with communities in Rio de Janeiro using the "Paulo Freire" methodology. Her experience in finance and administration started with structuring financial, administrative, and legal areas for the Brazilian Waiters Union, and acting as a financial analyst in an advertising agency. Ceiça studied Children's Education and Theology at University Santa Ursula, and later specialized in finance at the Institute for Financial Studies and labor at PUC-Rio.
