Caroline F. Ignacio is a Fellow at Promundo and an independent consultant. With Promundo, Caroline primarily focuses on supporting research and programs in Latin America across a wide range of programmatic areas, including: fatherhood and caregiving, conflict and security, and preventing violence. Some current projects focus on promoting non-violent caregiving and preventing child marriage and early unions, as well as other forms of sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. Previously she was the Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator with Instituto Promundo (Brazil) and Promundo Portugal. Caroline holds a BA in Public Health Studies from Johns Hopkins University and has a PhD from the Tropical Medicine Program at Instituto Oswaldo Cruz (IOC/ Fiocruz), where her research focused on incorporating the social determinants of health into people-centered primary healthcare services in high-conflict urban communities of Rio de Janeiro.
