Michael Kaufman is a Senior Fellow at Promundo. He is an educator and writer focused on engaging men and boys to promote gender equality and end violence against women. He is the co-founder of the White Ribbon Campaign, the international effort engaging men to end violence against women. Michael is the author or editor of seven books on gender issues, on democracy and development, as well as two novels. His articles have been translated into 15 languages. During the past three decades, he has worked in 45 countries, including extensively with the United Nations, numerous governments, NGOs, and universities. Michael previously taught at York University in Toronto, where he was Deputy Director of the Centre for Research on Latin America and the Caribbean.
